My new Gadget - Skype Phone GE 28310EE1

I was fascinated with skype for long time, the feature the skype offers specially if you want to call long distance like USA / UK from india or when you are on the move. Was watching the technology of PC less skype calling solution for past few years and finally decided to buy a skype phone which doesn't require a PC.
After reading reviews of few products including the WiFi phones, I narrowed down on alternative technology which is a chord less phone with a wired base station.
The product I chose was GE 28310EE1.
One of my friend brought the product to India when he was coming from US. As soon as I collected it from him, I bought a pair of AAA batteries, since I dint have patience to wait for 16 hrs charge for the handset. I put the batteries what I bought, connected the base station to my land line and my router. Without any hassle I could login to my skype account.

I made the first call. There was little distortion in first few seconds, then the voice quality was getting better. I had to dial an extension to reach the other party, I dialed, but NO LUCK. The DTMF tone dint seem to work. It was an unsuccessful call since it dint recognize any extension I dialed.

I was a great disappointment. Then I looked at firmware upgrade. I tried resetting the phone as well. But after the successful firmware upgrade ( which is pretty easy - few menus on the handset ), the phone was in full action. I could dial extension. Dial the official bridge and key in the conference number. Call people who require an extension to be dialed before reaching them.

In between, I found the handset used to hang( coming back to the main menu ). I did few restart of the base station to get away with problem. It has few ring tones, which I could configure for my skype phone and the land line separately.

The only problem what I am facing now is.. Its not able to recognise the caller on my land line. It shows as Unknown Caller. I tried calling from my regular cell phone to my land line to check the Caller ID.

Here are few picture of my phone in action.
